Intel Buys McAfee

The server was unable to process the request due to an internal error. For more information about the error, either turn on IncludeExceptionDetailInFaults (either from ServiceBehaviorAttribute or from the configuration behavior) on the server in order to send the exception information back to the client, or turn on tracing as per the Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0 SDK documentation and inspect the server trace logs.

  Intel buys McAfee, the antivirus company for $7.68 billion. The two companies with corporate headquarters in California not more than a mile away made this known August 19, 2010. However, Intel would allow McAfee to run as an independent company.

This is not the first time the chipmaker, Intel, has decided to venture into security. It currently provides some security features in its chips. The latest move is aim at taking advantage of the huge gadget market as more and more gadgets are finding their way into cars, and other consumer electronic devices and their software would surely need to be protected against malicious software attacks.
